Aims and content
Writing Dynamics™ shows participants how to increase the impact of their writing by:
- Selecting an appropriate writing strategy
- Managing the reader's attention, and
- Using techniques that highlight the benefits for the reader
By the end of the workshop participants understand the Writing Dynamics™ concepts and techniques and are in a position to apply them to their daily writing. |

Topics covered include:
- Focusing on the reader - who is your reader? What effect/action do you want from your document?
- Thinking creatively and logically - using the cluster technique to get ideas onto paper quickly
- Selecting the most appropriate writing strategy and organising ideas for the greatest impact on the reader.
- Managing time - including managing interruptions, developing a routine and creating a writing rhythm
- Drafting quickly - developing thoughts and building momentum
- Using point-form technique - to make lists and data clearer and more concise
- Writing reports - how are they different? How to manage a "team" report
- Proofreading - introducing commonly used editing marks and how they are used
- Editing for clarity, brevity and impact which includes:
- Managing the Reader's Attention - Choosing the Best Words - Creating Energy by Choosing the Best Verb - Creating Movement with More Active Writing - Creating More Energy by Finding the Real Action - Achieving Visual Impact

- Creating effective e-mail
- Selling to the reader - using writing techniques that highlight benefits to the reader
